Class is in session!

Hi Crafters!

The time has come... In my previous post, "Winter Class Are About to Start", I mentioned that I would be hosting crafting classes.  Well, the time has come!

The first class will be held on Saturday, December 10th.  I am so excited!!!  This first event is being held in a cozy local venue.  I hope to move to online media for such events in the near future so that all who want to attend are able too.  However, for this first class I will share photos, perhaps even a video, and all the details of the event here on my blog for all to see.

This class will be an introduction into card making.  I know that sounds like it should be a 'no brainer', but we can all use a little refresher every now and again...and think of how much fun it will be!

I hope that this will be the first of many classes to come.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Cards, Cards, Cards...

Hi Crafters!

So it's been crazy lately, but as I always say, creativity never stops.  I have been creating a lot of cards these past few days.  I love creating greeting cards.  I think greeting cards are a beautiful way of letting someone you know that they are thought of, loved, appreciated, and so on.

Greeting cards take on the personality that you give them, so when you create them, don't hold back.  A card can be inspired by just about anything, a person, a peice of paper, a color, a memory...just about whatever inspires you.

Here are a couple of pictures of my latest card creations and the inspiration behind each of them.

The first card was inspired by the feathers.  The second card was inspired by the image.  The third card was inspired by the thought of how down someone may feel when they are ill, so the bright flower embellishments are the true stars of the card.

Have you created any greeting cards lately?  Let me know, leave a comment.

Winter Classes Are About To Start

Hi Crafters!

So, I have to say that the last few days have been very exciting.

First, I was approached by a couple of published poets to create cards that will feature their beautiful poetry.  I think that is awesome!  I can't wait to get started.

Second, at the urging and encouragement of several of my dear friends, I am going to start hosting crafting classes/workshops.  I've hosted a couple of craft parties in the past, but never have I hosted a 'formal' class/workshop.  I am so excited!  Well, I took a straw poll amongst my friends to gage their interest in attending and I have to say, the response has been amazing.  (Awesome!) I love crafting, as you all know, and I love teaching...now the two are merging.

I'm preparing the schedule now.  My plan is to host my first official class/workshop in December.  I will be posting updates from the classes as well as photos.  I may even video some of the classes.  (YIKES!)

Scrapbook Expo: Fun and Fabulous

Hi Crafters!

So can we say - FUN and FABULOUS!!!  The Scrapbook Expo is being held in Ontario, CA this weekend and it is great!  I had a fun time checking out all of the amazing vendors participating this year.

Oh, before I forget, thanks to my friends for making the expo a blast!!!  A special thanks to Lorrie for coordinating our day.  Can't wait until we can hang out again!

Now back to the expo...
I noticed there were a few vendors that were extremely 'budget friendly'.  Seriously, their items were priced $5.00 or lower.  Yes, I said LOWER!!!  (Love it!) Items that we all keep in our supplies; adhesives, gel pens, glitter pens, clear stamps, bling, ribbon, embellishments, et cetera.

As always, some of my favorite vendors were in the house: Judikins, Cri-Kutz, Michaels, Sracpbuck, Sparkle N Sprinkle, We R Memory Keepers, just to name a few.

I've included some fun photos from the our day of fun.  I hope you enjoy them!

Pazzles' Booth
If you own a Pazzles Inspiration cutter and you're planning to attend the expo, you must stop by this booth!  New Single Fonts CD available at great prices.  I couldn't resist.  I have to say that the Pazzles team was really friendly and very helpful.  Thanks Tonionna and the rest of  the Pazzles team!!!

Craft Fantastic
I really like the glass tile pendants.  There were some really cute pieces on display; bracelets, necklaces, page embellishments and more.  I can't wait to make some pieces of my own with the glass pendants.

Fun Photos from the Expo
Below are some fun random photos from the expo.  I've added a caption to some of the photos, but honestly, I was having so much fun that I didn't take good notes.  LOL

Out with the old, in with the new!

Finally!

I've been wanting to redo my blog for some time now... (Some of you may be familiar with my original blog site: Crafting247.blogspot.com.) and I finally did it!  (Yippee!!)

I wanted to give my blog a much needed face lift.  My goal was to create a fresh, crisp, inviting site that would promote a warm and friendly experience.  I hope I've succeeded.

As I mentioned on my "Welcome" page, I created this blog to share.  So let the sharing begin...

What have I been creating?
I have been creating lots of greeting cards.  I was invited to participate ina craft event recently hosted by my good friend Connie.  (Thanks Connie!)  Needless to say, I had been working diligently to create new cards to show at the event.  I've posted some of the cards on the "Paper Creations" page.  Please feel free to take a look.

Have you created any cards lately?  Leave me a comment and let me know.  I'd love to see your creations.

What's on the horizon?
I may be creating cards for a couple of published poets. (Wahoo!!!)  I'll let you know how that turns out.  And of course I'll share photos of the new creations.

Remember, creativity never stops, so do something creative every day!
